Assad crimes against Syrian women exposed

A number of resistant Syrian women participated in a news conference, revealing a tip of the iceberg of the systematic crackdown against Syrian women by Assad forces, Orient TV reported.
Syrian National Coalition Vice President Noura al-Amir staged a conference in Turkey with reporters and journalists taking part from all news networks, describing human rights violations, crackdown and aggression against women’s rights and Syrian activists. In this press conference a number of resistant Syrian women who had spent time in Assad regime prisons. They described to the reports what they witnessed of the crackdown and Syrian women being tortured.
Ala al-Khomsi, one of the women who has been arrested for the ‘crime’ of being a member of a martyred family, has been harassed and raped by Assad’s security and intelligence forces. She described what she saw of what arrested women had gone through.
Asma al-Faraz spoke of her personal experience and the time she spent behind bars in Assad’s prisons and security centers.
Another participant said, “The policy of this regime is to viciously repress resistant women and finally killing them. I saw up close the pressures and various types of tortures used to get confessions. I also witnessed repulsive measures used by agents against women. This regime uses all tools of crackdown to silence the women and prevent them from taking part in social protests.”
Dr. Noura al-Amir said all Arabic and Islamic countries, along with relevant international organizations and entities responsible for preventing and ending these crimes by the Assad regime.
