Despite the claim to have stopped the shelling, Maliki forces continue to target residential areas and people’s homes, al-Tagheer TV reported.
The Iraqi people are calling on international organizations to intervene to stop the indiscriminate shelling. Maliki’s government says this shelling is against the militant group Islamic State of Iraq and Levant, ISIL, but what is seen on the ground is exactly the opposite.
Witnesses also say Maliki forces are using barrel bombs against the civilians.
