Iraq: opposition to 3rd term for Maliki

Baghdad TV reported the Friday prayer leader in the Iraqi town of Ghaem (Anbar Province) in a gathering of people in this city called on the new parliament members to rise to their responsibilities before the people and the country of Iraq, calling for the election of an individual other than Maliki in order to prevent a civil war.
Baghdad TV also reported Sheikh Basel Akram, Friday prayer leader of Tikrit, condemned continuing cruelty in Iraq by Maliki and said, “Enough with cruelty in Iraq.”
Sheikh Abdolmahdi Karbalaei, representative of Ayatollah Ali Sistani, said in Karbala’s Friday prayers, “The people are hopeful… to witness change because many of the people are unhappy about the last ten years”.
