Rouhani: each month we have 15 trillion rial deficit to provide subsidies

Mullah Hassan Rouhani on the night of Tuesday, April 29th, in a TV interview revealed just the tip of the iceberg of the Iranian regime’s economic crisis.
“First I must say we either had to continue with the status quo, meaning energy prices remaining as they were, that would lead to problems for us each month where we had to pay 35 trillion rials (around $1.4bn) in cash subsidies and each month have a 15 trillion rial deficit (around $613mn), and this problem would continue. Or we had to decrease the cash subsidies, or continue and accept conditions on consuming energy,” he said.
These massive numbers are just a portion of the economic dilemma Rouhani and the regime are facing, making a mockery of all his ridiculous pre-elections promises.
