Navi Pillay: systematic torture taking place in Assad regime prisons in Syria

France 24 TV: Four years into the civil war in Syria the lives of over 150,000 people have been lost. Human rights activists and UN High Commissioner for Human Rights Navi Pillay have said torture is being used systematically by the Syrian regime on men, women and children in Syrian detention centers.
Navi Pillay based her remarks on 38 survivors of these prisons who have suffered beatings, rape, and even had their teeth and nails pulled out. She described the conditions in these Syrian regime centers as horrific.
