Former US Defense Secretary Robert Gates said Obama is not very optimistic on Iran, referring to the mullahs’ various excuses used to buy time and lengthening the nuclear talks.
I have two concerns, he said, adding the first is that it has been said this is a six-month long negotiation and Iran knows how to make a 6-month long talk into a 10-month talk, then to a year, then say if we put more time we will be very close to a deal. This is the characteristic of politicians, Gates continued, to not end the negotiations.
