Khamenei using all assets for Maliki’s third term

A senior Sadr official revealed that Khamenei’s policy is to have the State of Law coalition, led by Maliki, leading the formation of a political government with the majority being sectarian figures, Kuwait’s al-Seyassah daily reported. This means the Iranian regime in the upcoming elections will be backing Maliki, especially since information received shows that Khamenei’s office has issued orders to place all Iranian assets and influence to provide support for Maliki.
This Sadr official said however, Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani has sent clear signals to his followers based on the fact that the parliamentary elections must result in the end of Maliki’s rule or else the current dire conditions that have engulfed Iraq for many years will continue and may even get worse.
