Lebanese Army attacks Syrian regime supporters in Tripoli

Lebanese Army forces attacked the residence of Raf’at Eid, Secretary-General of the pro-Assad Arabic Democratic Party located in the Mohsen Heights near the city of Tripoli in northern Lebanon.
This attack was carried out under the framework of a security operation in Tripoli approved by the Lebanese government. From the early hours of Tuesday morning security forces were stationed in the Mohsen Heights and Bab al-Tabane. Lebanese Army units, enjoying the backing of internal security personnel, occupied the war areas of these two regions and all signs of armed warfare such as bunkers were rounded up. The Army has also started its own patrols and arrested a number of wanted men.
