The European Union announced on Monday that a referendum taken in the Crimea to annex the peninsula to Russia is unacceptable and that the EU member countries are not going to accept its result.
In a joint communiqué, EU president Herman Von Rompoy and the EU commission president Jose Manuel Barrosso condemned Russia’s action to try to annex this peninsula to Russia.
The communiqué adds the EU foreign ministers are meeting today in Brussels to decide on how to force Russia to pull back its forces from Crimea.
