Iranian Resistance condemns savage punishment amputating prisoners

NCRI – The Iranian regime hanged a prisoner in public in Kouzehgari Square in city of Shiraz on Wednesday, February 19. Two prisoners had been publicly hanged in this same square on February 13.
While reporting on the Wednesday’s public hanging, the state-run Mehr news agency affiliated with the regime’s Ministry of Intelligence and Security (MOIS), stated that another prisoner has been condemned to the barbaric punishment of “cutting off one hand and one foot”.
The number of registered executions since the beginning of 2014 reached 132 of which 32 executions were conducted during less than a week following protests by Bakhtiaris in a number of cities across the country. The executions are aimed at intensifying terror to prevent the spread of the uprising.
In the many years of never-ending and fruitless series of negotiations with the Iranian regime on the nuclear issue, the West has closed its eyes on violation of human rights in Iran and the escalating executions and savage punishments such as cutting off the hands and feet.
The silence and inaction in face of growing oppression since Hassan Rouhani took office, regardless of any excuse, has been encouraging the regime to continue with its anti-human atrocities.
The Iranian Resistance underscores the necessity for the referral of the dossier of systematic violation of human rights in Iran to the United Nations Security Council.
