Iraqi VP: Arab League, OIC must prevent Maliki’s policy of religious cleansing against Iraqi Sunnis

Iraqi Vice President Tareq al-Hashemi called on all Arab countries and the Organization of Islamic Conference to intervene to stop the military campaign Maliki has announced against Anbar Province cities.
“This military campaign has increased to the level of sectarian cleansing against the Sunni community in Iraq,” he said.
“I call on the Arab League countries and the OIC to rise to their responsibilities before what is taking placing against Sunnis in Iraq, from cruelty, massacres, changing Arab and Islamic identity, displacing people which have all elevated to the level of complete religious cleansing.”
