Iran: rallies protesting regime inability in resolving water-power problems & high prices

Mazandarn: Water and power outages in western Mazandaran Province have resulted in a price hike in mineral water in this region. Residents are saying each pack of mineral water is sold at 60 to 120 thousand rials (around $4) which is a serious price hike.

Shahsavar: A group of people staged a gathering protesting the Iranian regime’s incompetence in resolving the people’s problem after the snowfall closed down many roads, and for people to receive basic foods. These protesters are saying there is still no report of many villages and numerous regions continue to lack water and electricity. Mismanagement in the towns has caused a very severe crisis.
People are also protesting high prices of various goods, saying, “Why does a bottle of water price at 80,000 to 120,000 rials (around $4)? Why do taxi fees go up all of a sudden? In the city of Khoram Abad it has reached 15,000 rials.  What is the reason for all this mess? Who is to blame?”
