Attack by Maliki forces and ‘Sahvah’ state militants on al-Anbar defeated: Al-Jazeera TV

Al-Jazeera TV cited a medical source in the al-Anbar Province Medical Department reporting 27 Sahvah government militants and Iraqi security forces were killed in clashes against tribal forces, and seven others were injured.
The Iraqi Army and SWAT forces, backed by Sahvah government militants, have launched a widespread attack against the southern regions of Ramadi, capital of al-Anbar Province in western Iraq. The areas witnessing the intense clashes include al-Malab, Afsaran and 60th Avenue.
“Today, Maliki’s militants entered with their armored vehicles. The armed tribes expanded and increased their forces, forcing Sahvah militants to flee from the scene and many of the SWAT forces have been arrested by the armed tribes. As a result, not only was the army unable to enter Ramadi, in fact it has been surrounded, forced to flee or been arrested by the armed tribes,” said Ramadi protest camp spokesman Abdolqader al-Nael.
