Sheikh Aqil al-Fahdawi, a leader of the Iraqi popular moement in Fallujah, said in an interview with al-Tagheer TV, “The city of Fallujah is under the control of armed tribes and there is no other force in this city. However, shelling and bombings continue by Maliki’s forces. They are seeking to take revenge from the people of Fallujah and that is why they are spreading rumors that Daesh forces are in the city. Clerics, dignitaries and armed tribes in Fallujah have agreed to reopen all stores and institutions on Wednesday morning to allow the people to purchase their necessities. All government entities are under the control of and protected by tribes.”
