Iraq on the brink of civil war

The Salahedin Province Military Council announced its establishment. These forces fired mortars at the base of Maliki’s SWAT forces near the town of Biji.
The al Anbar Tribes Military Council announced that in an effort to prevent the infiltration of Maliki’s forces and militias, its forces have taken control over Iraq’s Ramadi international highway.
The Diyala Province tribal forces closed the Kirkuk-Baghdad road to prevent the shuttling of Maliki’s military forces.
According to a report by Al Jazeera TV, the Maliki government is using militias it has mobilized from across Iraq and equipped with uniforms and military vehicles in an offensive against al Anbar.
Meanwhile, according to a report from Iraq’s Fallujah TV, Turkish Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced that if Iran enters Iraq against Sunni tribes, Turkey will support the Sunni forces.
