In a statement issued by the Iraqi Independent Jurists (IIJ) the UN and the US are held responsible for safety and security of Camp Liberty residents.
The IIJ said this was the fourth attack on Camp Liberty by Nouri Maliki forces using high explosive improvised missiles that left 3 dead and more than 70 injured some in critical condition. We have previously warned of such malign plots against the MEK and will reiterate now that the UN and the US must take firm and tangible actions to insure the safety and the security of the camp residents and to remove future threats of such attacks on innocent and unprotected civilians living in the camp, attacks that would each be considered as crime against humanity and war crime, the statement added.
The statement continued: While strongly condemning this attack, we urge the UN to actively uphold its responsibility of the security of Camp Liberty residents and hold the US government responsible in acting upon its pledge to the MEK members in accordance with the Geneva Fourth Convention.
