Iranian regime blocks probe into political prisoner’s death under torture

Giti Poor-Fazel, lawyer of the family of Sattar Beheshti, the political prisoner who died while in custody last year, said, “Despite the fact that the inmates of Ward 350 in Tehran’s Evin Prison were ready to testify in the Sattar Beheshti case that he died under torture, the Government Employees Criminal Court did not accept the charge of premeditated murder in this case.”
She added, “The mother and father of Sattar Beheshti do not consent to this ruling and are not willing to accept blood money for their child’s death.”
Sattar Beheshti was a young blogger arrested last year and died in prison after four days of torture at the hands of Iranian regime henchmen.
