Iraq: Ayatollah Ali Sistani said Maliki and Assad must be set aside

Al Tagheer TV, 24 Nov 2013 – The Turkish World Bulletin website said Iraqi Shiite Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani has said to the Turkish Foreign Minister Ahmet Davutoglu the time has come for Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki and Syrian President Bashar Assad to step aside.
This website cited Turkish Prime Minsiter Recep Tayyip Erdogan in an interview with ITV Turkey saying Davutoglu after his trip to Iraq will go to Iran and the United States. In Iraq he has met with Shiite Grand Ayatollah Ali Sistani and Sadrists leader Muqtada Sadr.
