Call to compel Iraq to remove criminals from Liberty and end medical siege
Following the massacre and mass execution of PMOI members in Ashraf, Iraqi forces under command of Maliki have ratcheted up their suppressive and anti-human measures, in particular the anti-human medical siege against Camp Liberty residents.
Major Ahmed Khozair, intelligence officer affiliated with the Iraqi Prime Ministry Committee charged with suppression of Ashraf residents, has obstructed transfer of patients to the hospital since October 21. This henchman has been directly involved in the September 1 massacre and mass execution of PMOI members in Ashraf which resulted in martyrdom of 52 and abduction of seven more. A few weeks prior to this atrocity he was transferred to Ashraf from Camp Liberty and later returned back to Liberty.
On October 21 and 22, while all arrangements for transfer of patients to hospital had been resolved by the Iraqi clinic and medical appointments had been booked in Baghdad and patients were ready in the ambulance, Iraqi forces prevented the ambulance from leaving the camp. They said that Major Ahmed had ordered that no patient is to be taken to the hospital.
Hampering access of patients to hospital is the same criminal policy implemented by this henchman during the past years in Ashraf; a policy that until now has cost the lives of 15 residents of Ashraf and Liberty by obstructing their free access to medical services and introducing delays in their treatment thereby tormenting them to death.
The Iranian Resistance warns of consequences of this anti-human medical blockade and presence of criminal elements such as Ahmed Khozair in Camp Liberty that paves the way for another massacre and calls on the United Nations and United States to demand from government of Iraq in the strongest terms to remove individuals involved in previous massacres from Camp Liberty and end hampering access of residents to medical services.
