Iranian diaspora in Berlin holds convention and demonstration

INTV, 6 Oct 2013 – On Saturday, October 5th, coinciding with the 35th day of the hunger strike and demonstration outside the United States Embassy in Berlin, the Iranian community in this city held a large convention and staged a demonstration.
This conference condemned the crime against humanity in Ashraf, massacre, mass executions and hostage taking by Maliki’s military forces under orders from Iran, and called for the release of the hostages and United Nations blue-helmet forces to station in Camp Liberty. Furthermore, this convention demanded an international independent investigation into the crimes of September 1st. Thirty Iranian entities and supporters of the Iranian Resistance took part in this conference.


 


 



 
Various German dignitaries including former ministers and prominent MPs, along with various delegations of political parties and former US Congressman Patrick Kennedy took part and delivered speeches in this convention. Numerous German media outlets provided coverage on this convention.


 




Germany’s Deutsche Presse Agency reported: “Demonstrators in Berlin on Saturday called on the US to obtain the release of the hostages. They want US President Barack Obama to delay his meeting with Iraq’s ruler Nouri Maliki until the hostages are released. Family members of these hostages have been hunger strike since the September 1 attack. US politician Patrick Kennedy accompanied the Iranian dissidents who are struggling for the release of the hostages. Javad Dabiran from the National Council of Resistance of Iran representative office said the hostages were abducted on September 1st during the attack against Ashraf, the PMOI’s base in Iraq. In this raid 52 Ashraf residents were murdered.”
