Iraqi uprisings wave spreads into cities of Najaf, Karbala, Basra and Baghdad

With anti-government uprising continuing in Iraq, supporters of Shiite religious leader Ayatollah Seyed Hassan Sarkhi in the cities of Najaf, Karbala, Basra and Baghdad staged numerous demonstrations.
According to Al Jazeera TV, demonstrators condemned sectarianism and the Iraqi government’s policy of elimination and sidelining. Protesters carried placards written, “I am Shiite and my brother is Sunni; I am Muslim and my brother is Christian.”
Local committees organizing demonstrations in Iraq called for million-man rallies against Maliki. According to Baghdad TV, protesters in al-Anbar and other provinces throughout Iraq invited people to take part in a rally in “Dignity” Square in the city of Ramadi, capital of al-Anbar Province.
Also, 13 movements from tribal and popular forces from Iraq’s central and southern regions staged calls for widespread demonstrations and prayers of unity this coming Friday.
