Iran: petrochemical plant workers go on strike

Workers of Mahshahr Petrochemical Plant, located in southern Iran, went on strike, beginning on Monday protesting a 4-month delay in the workers’ salary payments, Hrana website reported.
These workers are also protesting lack of safety equipment and various technical problems that are creating life-threatening risks for the workers.
Workers of the Mahshahr Petrochemical Plant during the past weeks have also gone on strike, demanding contract companies be eliminated from the work force in this plant that allow the company officials to not sign direct contracts with the workers.
