Iraqi, Arab associations condemn Ahmadinejad’s upcoming visit to Baghdad

Numerous Iraqi and Arab associations issued statements condemning Ahmadinejad’s upcoming visit to Baghdad, adding one of Ahmadinejad’s objective in this visit is to dictate orders to Iraq to confiscate Ashraf residents’ property.

Egyptian Lawyers Association
We condemn Ahmadinejad’s upcoming visit to Iraq. Without a doubt, one of the objectives in this visit is to dictate new orders and plans to the Iraqi government against Ashraf and Liberty residents to confiscate their property. We call on the UN and international community to immediately recognize Liberty’s legal status as a refugee camp.

Committee of Arab Women Lawyers in Defense of 1,000 Ashrafi Women
We strongly condemn Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq, aiming to increase Iran’s interferences in the region and Iraq, and to increase repression and confiscation of Ashraf and Liberty residents’ property.
We call on the UN and the global community to immediately impel the Iraqi government to stop violating the rights of Ashraf and Liberty residents.

Association in Defense of Human Rights in Iraq
We warn of Iranian officials meddling in the case of Ashraf and Liberty and consider such measures as flagrant violations of international laws and resolutions and refugees’ rights.
We call on all Iraqis, including political dignitaries, parties, tribes, social organizations and MPs to condemn Ahmadinejad’s visit to Iraq in the Parliament, streets, demonstrations and by issuing statements.
