Major Iraqi tribes, organizations issue statements welcoming PMOI delisting in US

Iraq’s main tribes issued statements welcoming and congratulating the PMOI victory on the removal of this organization’s name from the US State Department List of Foreign Terrorist Organizations.

Al-Enzarat Tribe Statement

From the very first day, the terrorist allegation against the PMOI was void and its objective was quite clear. Also, it was a pretext in the hands of the Iraqi government to pressure Ashraf and Liberty residents to alter their position. However, Ashraf and Liberty residents became symbols of fighting for their beliefs, being the Iranian people’s freedom from the religious dictatorship.

Al-Barzanji Tribe Statement
The removal of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran from the US list has brought much joy. We are with you until the great victory over the enemies of freedom in Iran and their agents in Iraq. The Iran of tomorrow and the wounded Iraq must be freed, while fascists and fundamentalists must be overthrown.

Zanganeh Tribe Statement
From the Zangane Tribe in Kirkuk, we congratulate you on the removal of the terrorist label against the People’s Mojahedin Organization – which was nothing but a tag of lies – and we praise those involved in this campaign or those who supported it.

Salehi Tribe Statement
Despite the delay in this decision and its dimension in the struggle of the People’s Mojahedin, it is of much rejoice that this terror label has been revoked. We call on the international community to respect the rights of PMOI members based on the Fourth Geneva Convention. We also stress any interference by the Iranian regime embassy in Baghdad in affairs related to Ashraf and Liberty residents must be prevented.

Al-Talabani Statement
Sheikhs and tribal representatives of the al-Talabani tribe in Kirkuk congratulate the removal of the terrorist label against the PMOI. The Iranian regime and its agents in Iraq were attempting to crackdown on Ashraf and Liberty residents with the motive of the terrorist designation. The Iraqi government must treat them based on international laws and freedom of political refugees.

Al-Khavaledi Tribe Statement
The victory of PMOI delisting resulted for their patience and perseverance, sacrifice because of their people, and for their future generations. The PMOI have suffered much hardship and presented many martyrs.
Now it is the UN’s duty to impel the Iraqi government to its obligations towards human rights and respecting the rights of political refugees, and officially recognize Camp Liberty as a refugee camp.

Al-Davoudi Tribe Statement
By removing the terrorist designation from the PMOI the international community must treat them based on international laws, and political refugees’ rights and freedoms. The Iraqi government must have humane behavior towards them.

Al-Obaidi Tribe Statement
Our tribe and PMOI supporters in Kirkuk and all over Iraq congratulate the delisting of the PMOI. The Iranian regime and its agents in Iraq, by placing the terrorist designation as a pretext, came to crackdown on Ashraf residents. Ashraf and Liberty residents must be treated based on the Fourth Geneva Convention and their rights respected.

Al-Luhaib Tribe Statement
We congratulate you, and we have an oath with your leader Mrs. Maryam Rajavi to support you until we obtain a great victory over the devious velayat-e faqih regime in Iran and Iraq being freed from the fundamentalism of the fascist mullahs.

Jaf Tribe Statement
Removal of the terrorist label from the PMOI
This is an issue of great joy and happiness, and we must express our gratitude to those involved in this campaign, struggled and supported these efforts along this organization. The Iran of tomorrow and our wounded Iraq must be freed and the fascists and fundamentalists be overthrown.

Ayad Ali Ahmad al-Karvi
Member of the Diyala Provincial Council

I express my deepest congratulations from the bottom of my heart on the delisting of this organization from the US list. We know the terrorist allegation led the mullahs to execute more PMOI supporters inside Iran, and under this cloak and accusation, Iraqi forces attacked Ashraf and murdered over 40 residents. Now, following the revoking of this designation from the terrorist list, there is no excuse left for the Iraqi government.

Northern Iraq Jurists Association
Let us congratulate you, and ourselves, on the delisting of the PMOI from the black list. Both Iran and Iraq will be freed and all their conspiracies and lies will be overthrown. Justice and freedom must rise for it to be made clear for the world that the mullahs and their fundamentalism are nothing but deception vis-à-vis the entire world.

Association of Friendship and Solidarity Between the People’s of Iran and Iran
We congratulate Ashraf and Liberty for this great victory. They were patient and sacrificed because of their dignity and principles. We call on the United Nations and United States to impel the Iraqi government to lift the siege imposed on Ashraf and Liberty.

The Committee for War Victims
Following this great victory there is no pretext for the limitations and pressures against Ashraf and Liberty residents. Therefore, we call for the immediate cancellation of this siege by the Iraqi government.
