The meddling of the Iranian regime in Syria and its attempts to save the Assad regime

The capture of 48 Iranian regime’s terrorists in Syria has frightened the leaders of the regime

GLOBAL POLITICIAN, 19 Sep 2012 – According to reports received from within the regime, at a meeting of the regime’s Security Council in the presence of Ali Khamenei, he emphasized the need to continue to support Syria’s dictator, and said: “We have entered a phase where a retreat does not make sense and with full power we have to support Bashar by financial means, weapons and force to maintain him. Because all our fates are tied to Syria and it will be decided by that.
The fate of Hezbollah and Hamas and all … Syria is now our front line and we have no other way than to devote all our power for this.” Accordingly, on the order of Khamenei, in a desperate attempt to prevent the inevitable fall of the dictator of Syria, in recent weeks the number of revolutionary guards participating in the killing of Syrian people has increased in an unprecedented manner.
Forty eight guards who were arrested by the Free Syrian Army on August 4th, are part of a group of 150 Iranian Revolutionary Guards who recently flew from Tehran to Damascus with Mahan Air affiliated with the Iranian Revolutionary Guards. They were being transported by three buses from the airport to their deployment locations. Transfer of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards to Syria and Lebanon, including Lebanon War in summer 2006, is done by Mahan Air.
Besides Tehran, The IRGC centers in many cities especially in Isfahan, Shiraz, Mashhad and Tabriz have active participation in dispatching guards to Syria.
The IRGC and terrorist Qods Force frequently use a front organization called the “Cultural and Service Institute of Samen Alaeme” for the transfer of guards to Syria. This institute was established by Hassan Ashtiani, one of the leaders of the Qods Force. Several subsidiary companies such as “Talaye Nour Hejrat” play a role in different parts of the country in organizing and dispatching guards to Syria. The headquarter of this organisation in Tehran is managed by Iranian Revolutionary Guards Hassan Ashtiani, Maleki (Deputy) and Alidusti and Yabnloui. Terrorist Qods Force agents in the Isfahan branch of this institute, include mullah Mohsen Ronnasi and Revolutionary Guards Ahmad Zeinali, Afkhami, Amir Hossein Peivandi, and Khaki. Samen Alaeme Institute has an office in Damascus where Hamid Reza Golabchian and mullah Ghazali, two of their directors, now have returned to Tehran.
Iranian Revolutionary Guards are sent to Syria through at least three methods: Direct flight to Damascus from Tehran and Isfahan; transfer to Najaf and flying from Najaf to Damascus; flying to Beirut and from Beirut to Syria by land transfer.
Following the arrest of 48 guards in Damascus, the mullahs’ regime has decided to send a larger number of Revolutionary Guards to Najaf in Iraq and to fly them from there to Syria. The Hajj and Pilgrimage Organisation of the regime provides adequate cover for dispatching these terrorists as pilgrims by issuing fake documents.
On August 5th, the Revolutionary Guards News Agency (FARS) wrote in this regard: “Iran, which in the 33-day war was present alongside Hezbollah and caused the defeat of Zionists, would definitely be able to cause the defeat of Zionism-trained terrorists in Syria” FARS News Agency, referring to the solidarity rally of the Iranian resistance and the Syrian people’s movement, added: “All of Iran’s enemies are now trying to bring Assad’s regime to its knees, and this way to defeat the old ally of the Islamic Republic, and in the international arena make Iran face a dilemma. This is why it seems Iran has to have a more active participation in solving Syrian crisis. “
According to a new report from inside the mullahs Revolutionary Guards, on Tuesday August 8th, three days after the arrest of 48 criminal revolutionary guards by Free Syrian Army, Saeed Jalili, Secretary of the Supreme National Security Council of the mullahs’ regime, arrived in Damascus for talks with Syrian vampire dictator. Meanwhile, Maj. Gen. Pasdar Firouz Abadi, the Iranian regime’s Armed Forces Chief of Staff said: “Al-Saud, Qatar and Turkey are responsible for the blood spilled on Syrian soil.” Ali Larijani, speaker of the mullahs Parliament, threatened the United States and a number of countries in the region, that “they are responsible for the killing of Iranian pilgrims and will receive an appropriate response at the right time.” (Fars News Agency, Aug. 8).
While the leaders of the mullahs’ regime are trying to escape the scandal by calling the arrested people as a group of Iranian “pilgrims,” two weeks ago the Foreign Ministry spokesman had announced that “due to being unsafe in Syria, no pilgrims will be sent to this country.” The mullahs’ regime Embassy in Damascus had also acknowledged that “Official sending of pilgrims to Syria has stopped” (ISNA state-run news agency August 4th). It is interesting that on the same day the Iranian Revolutionary Guards were arrested, mullah Shahsavari of the regime’s Hajj and Pilgrimage had declared: “Given the special situation in Syria, we have no pilgrims have in this country” (IRGC news agency — Fars – August 4th).
With the prospect of being closer to the fall of Syrian dictator, the Tehran regime has intensified its activities to suppress the Syrian uprising. The Supreme National Security Council of the regime, chaired by Ahmadinejad, follows constantly the situation in Syria and takes necessary measures to support Bashar Assad regime. These decisions will be implemented after the approval of Khamenei. Syria’s economic problems are also followed and coordinated by Mehrab, Economic Deputy of this Council (former Deputy Minister of Intelligence).
In addition to the Supreme Security Council, a special crisis committee has been established in the terrorist Qods Force under the command of Qasem Soleimani for Syria. The direct commander of the arrested forcesin Damascus is one of the Qods Force commanders whose nick name is Haji Haider. He is the Qods Force commander of operation in Lebanon but as the situation in Syria deteriorated, he was transferred to Tehran and now he is in the Qods Force headquarters in Tehran.
The regime’s Qods Force commander in Lebanon -currently in Damascus- is Brigadier General Mohammad Reza Zahedi. He frequently travels from Tehran to Lebanon and Damascus. Since the 1990s to 2006, Zahedi was one of the operational commanders of the Qods Force in Tehran. In 2009, He was appointed as the commander of the Qods Force in Lebanon at the order of Ghasem Soleimani and approved by Khamenei. Zahedi’s name also appears on the list of individuals under sanctions in accordance with UN Security Council Resolution 1747.
Currently Brigadier General Razi Mousavi, one of the commander of the Qods Force in Lebanon is based in the regime’s embassy in Damascus and follows logistical works.
In the Ministry of Foreign Affairs also a special committee chaired by Marvi, Deputy Director General for the Middle East, is responsible for Syria.
To support Syria economically, Hassan Kazemi Qomi, a commander of the Qods Force, has been appointed as Foreign Minister economic adviser. Kazemi Qomi who had been the regime’s ambassador in Baghdad has a wide range of facilities in Iraq that he uses them to serve in Syria. Among other things, he pours large amount of money to Iran by replacing counterfeit imported Dinars from Iran with Iraqi Central Bank dollars. Kazemi Qomi also uses the “Islamic Ilaf” Bank in Iraq, which is completely under his control, for monetary transactions.

Hossein Abedini is a member of the Foreign Affairs Committee of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. He was seriously injured during an assassination attempt on March 14, 1990 in Istanbul, Turkey by agents sent by Tehran.
