Iran: Kermanshah city bus drivers announce strike

Drivers of the city bus commuting company in Kermanshah (western Iran) announced a strike Saturday morning, Herana website reported. Based on a report published by the Kermanshah Post passengers were stranded while city officials resorted to using taxis and vans to address the commuting problem.
Heavy traffic was reported in various busy parts of the city including plazas and main intersections.
Drivers of the city bus company staged a strike protesting not receiving diesel fuel subsidies during the past year and low bus rates. They also have complained about the deteriorating status of the city busses.
Reporters and journalists contacted the Kermanshah city bus organization manager, who provided no details. The managing office chief refused to provide more details into the reason behind the strike, going on to claim the strike was over.
