Aggression on Ashraf-Liberty residents’ rights against Iraqi customs: prominent sheikh

Sheikh Ali Hatajm, emir of Iraq’s Dolaim Tribe expressed his abhorrence on the Iraqi government’s measures against Ashraf and Liberty residents and called on the US to guarantee protection for PMOI members in Iraq.
“The US’ appeasement policy vis-à-vis the Iranian regime has practically led to the US surrendering Iraq to those who have committed themselves to the Iranian regime,” he said. “Currently, the Iraqi government is carrying out various attacks, tortures and physical settlements against the Iraqi people based on sectarian views. Furthermore, the People’s Mojahedin of Iran – who are the guests of the Iraqi people – are the targets of various types of pressures and attacks, with their terror listing by the US used as a pretext.
“Therefore, it would have been better for the US to have blacklisted Maliki’s government and by setting aside the incorrect policy of appeasement, taken steps in guaranteeing protection and security for Ashraf and Liberty residents.”
The emir of Iraq’s Doleim Tribe reiterated, “The Iraqi people and tribes demand the presence of the PMOI in their country and if those who govern Iraq were true Arabs and Iraqis, they would not have carried out these aggressions against the PMOI because such measures are in contrast to Iraqi traditions.”
