(Excerpts): “Coinciding with the trip of the Iranian regime’s Foreign Minister to Iraq and the unfortunate remarks of Hoshyar Zebari and other government officials regarding the implementation of the Iraqi government’s deadline on closing Camp Ashraf, which is in contrast to international calls and UN statements, a number of Iraqi MPs and patriotic figures who represent the Iraqi people protested this deadline and called on the UN to provide protection for Camp Ashraf.”

Al-Alvani added resolving this crisis is not possible without international solutions.

Taha also called for a legal solution to resolve this crisis, adding the mandatory expulsion of Ashraf residents will have a negative impact on Iraq’s human rights dossier.
