Lack of basic equipment, supplies in Tehran airport for emergencies

The picture you are viewing is the scene of a Boeing 727 passenger plane during an emergency landing in Tehran’s Mehrabad International Airport due to technical difficulties and the front wheels not opening for landing. Despite this urgent case, the flight control tower’s response to the pilot asking for help was, “We don’t have foam!”
A report by the Iranian regime’s state-run Asr-e Iran daily wrote on October 29th: “During the landing at Mehrabad Airport, in that urgent time full of stress the pilot asked the flight control tower have they spilled foam on the runway? The answer he heard was ‘No’ and once he asked for the reason, they answered: ‘We don’t have foam. The Air Force does and if we request them to bring foam it will take an hour!’
“This is while the plane had less than 3 minutes of fuel and had no other choice but to land. The pilot said near Tehran when he noticed the planes front wheels are not opening, he asked Mehrabad Airport authorities to spill special foam on the runway. This foam is used to decrease the friction caused by the plane body being skidded on the asphalt to increase safety conditions as much as possible during special conditions.”
