Iran: State-run daily termed Ahmadinejad’s promises as baseless, absurd

The mullahs’ “Mardom Salari” state-run daily described Ahmadinejad’s inexpert promises of creating 1.6 million jobs in 2009-2010 and a further 2.5 million jobs in 2010-2011 as baseless and absurd. This daily went on to describe Ahmadinejad’s claims of lowering inflation to single digits as “a joke”, adding unrealistic numbers are published by the government despite the fact prices are on the rise for literally every item in the market.
This state-run daily went on to describe Ahmadinejad’s claim of becoming self-sufficient in producing and even exporting gasoline comes at a time when a member of the Majlis (parliament) Energy Commission revealed that the country is producing 50 million liters of gasoline per day while it is importing 65 million liters per day to meet internal demand.
