Bush urges Arab allies to confront Iran

According to the Agence France Presse US President George Bush entered Saudi Arabia to discuss with its leaders on isolating the Iranian regime and pursuing the Middle East Peace process.

For the first time as President entering Saudi Arabia, George Bush was welcomed by King Abdullah, Saudi King.

US President intends to gain support of the Gulf Arab countries for confrontation against the Iranian regime and also for the Middle East Peace plan before the end of his presidential term in January 2009.

George Bush will stay in Saudi Arabia for about two days and will meet with King Abdullah in Riyadh Palace.

The two leaders will go to the royal farm of King Abdullah. Bush will leave Saudi Arabia for Egypt on Wednesday.

“Iran is today the world’s leading state sponsor of terror,” Bush charged Iran. “It sends hundreds of millions of dollars to extremists around the world while its own people face repression and economic hardship at home. It seeks to intimidate its neighbours with ballistic missiles and bellicose rhetoric. It defies the United Nations and destabilises the region by refusing to be open and transparent about its nuclear programmes and ambitions.”
