Iraqi political figures highlight support for European Parliament for Ashraf’s protection

Iraqiya faction members Jamal al-Bettikh and Adnan Danbous, along with Abdullah Kazem, spokesman of Iraqi Vice President Tariq al-Hashemi all expressed their support for the European Parliament plan to the crisis of Ashraf.
“The solution presented by the European Parliament is a logical and humanitarian solution, al-Bettikh said. “Those who are present in Ashraf are facing numerous problems, and therefore they must enjoy full support.”
Adnan Danbous stressed protection for Ashraf at this timing is necessary. Protection must by fully provided, in addition to the fact that especially medical, pharmaceutical and food support must be provided for them. These issues are the conditions of respecting human rights.
“The European plan is a good solution leading to a final, justified and humane solution to solve the problems of Ashraf residents based on international laws and human rights,” Abdullah Kazem said. “All national forces have agreed with this framework from the very beginning, supporting any kind of final and humanitarian solution. We oppose any type of displacement of Ashraf residents inside Iraq.”
