One of four youth in Iran out of work: report

2 June 2011 – The state-run ILNA news agency cited the Secretary General of Iran’s Labor Guild as saying, “Various organizations have defined unemployment instead of occupation. One has to say that unemployment amongst our country’s youth is over 22.3%.”
ILNA cited a member of the mullahs Majlis (parliament) Social Commission as saying each organizations presents a unique definition of unemployment based on their own interests. “One of every four youths in our country is unemployed and this issue has raised concerns amongst social and economic experts. The lack of correct statistics regarding the rate of unemployment throughout the country makes programming to solve this issue twice as hard.”
