Mrs. Danielle Mitterrand who currently heads the France Liberte foundation, in a message that was read by Lord Robin Corbett said: "the British Court’s decision indicates the tradition of defending democracy in England, and is a confirmation to the ruling of the European Court of Justice and we congratulate for it today. Leader of Labor lords Lord Robin Corbett, who chaired the press conference, congratulated this victory and said: " We ask Jack Straw, then Home Secretary, to apologize to the Iranian Resistance, because he put the PMOI upon mullahs’ request in the list of Proscribed Organizations in 2000. I now invite the Home Secretary and indeed the former Home Secretary and Foreign Secretary Jack Straw, to apologize for the hurt and harm he has done to the Iranian resistance based on the demands of the mullahs to proscribe the PMOI. Brian Binley: What a pleasure to be here to celebrate the PMOI and National Council of Resistance of Iran taken off the list by the court ruling. I shall call to my party to recognize that decision and pledge support for the work of the National Council of Resistance of Iran. Surly they joined in with a free and democratic organization pursuing free and democratic objectives through a free and democratic process it is what, this decision means. We should not forget all of those who sacrificed themselves for freedom to where we are today those 120,000 martyrs in Iran itself. If there was a need to dedicate this victory today I would dedicate it to those people and especially to Mrs. Maryam Rajavi the leader of the movement for freedom and democracy in Iran. Geoffrey Bindman: the appalling error was made by our government was from very beginning to proscribe the PMOI which should not be banned from outset… and I am extremely proud and delighted to make this decision finally reversed. Andrew Mackinlay: first of all I would like to say Salam (hello to) Ashraf and salute the people over there. There are two important reasons for importance of this great victory. The first one is domestic one. We must be serious in rule of law in our country. The decision of the court today to determine the Home Secretary’s decision was perverse and in my view needs to be annulled. Second most important matter is of justice for the people in exile who suffered and injured prosecutions.
