Iran: Resistance Units support Saravan protests, call for regime change

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, March 6, 2021—In recent days, the internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), known as the Resistance Units, continued their anti-regime campaigns across the country. These activities were in support of the protests of poor people of the city Saravan in Sistan and Baluchistan province. Protests began in Saravan, Sistan, and Baluchestan province, after the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) opened fire and killed fuel porters in Saravan county, near the Iran-Pakistan border.

In Tehran, Isfahan, Sarkhosh, Genaveh, Kermanshah, Zahedan, Abadan, Shahre Quds, Gilan, Behbahan, and Nain, the Resistance Units took to graffiti echoing slogans such as “Baluchestan is not alone, down with Khamenei,” and “The uprising of the people in Baluchestan is the uprising of all the Iranian people.”

In other places of Tehran, Shiraz, Rasht, Zanjan, Shahroud, Shahr-e Quds, Shahre Rey, Ahvaz, Kermanshah, Kerman, Iranshahr, Behbahan, and Hamadan, the Resistance Units installed posters of the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), with the slogans “In the struggle for the country’s destiny, either death or freedom,” “We must get ready to struggle a hundred times harder,” “Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi,” “Khamenei is a murderer and his rule is illegitimate,” and “Down with Khamenei & Rouhani who are the main cause of disasters in Iran.”

On March 3, the Resistance Units also honored Dr. Mohammad Mosaddegh, Iran’s first democratically elected Prime Minister who nationalized the Iranian oil in 1951. In various areas of Tehran, Isfahan, Mashhad, Tabriz, Kashan, Zanjan, Bushehr, Mahshahr, and Ahvaz the Resistance Units installed posters of Mosaddegh reading songs such as “No to the mullahs & the Shah, rest in peace Mosaddegh,”

“Mosaddegh was a strong leader who taught us to stand & fight.”

The continued daily activities across Iran once again show the organizing capability of the MEK and its leading role in protests and uprisings. In the last two-and-half years, the MEK has expanded its network inside the country, despite many arrests, imprisonments, and executions. The regime tries to create an atmosphere of fear to prevent a new wave of protests. This is while every day across Iran the Resistance Units is installing slogans targeting the regime’s Supreme leader Ali Khamenei.

Many regime officials, including Khamenei, have acknowledged MEK’s growth and expansion of activities inside Iran in the past two years.
