Iran: Continued activities of MEK Resistance Units

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, February 25, 2021—The network of the Iranian opposition movement the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), known as the Resistance Units continued its anti-regime activities across the country. In various cities, the Resistance Units took to graffiti with slogans against the regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and pledge to overthrow the mullahs’ regime.

They also installed posters of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and Maryam Rajavi the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI). This is while the regime punishes any form of support for the MEK with heavy sentences.

These activities were carried out in Tehran, Tabriz, Shadegan, Rasht, and Shahriar. In Shadegan, while a poster of Massoud Rajavi was installed, these slogans read “Rebellions make victory” and “The people of Iran want neither the mullahs nor the coronavirus.”

In Tehran, a poster of Maryam Rajavi was installed while echoing the slogan “We can and we must overthrow the mullahs.”

The activities of the Resistance Units are a boost of hope and motivation for the oppressed people of Iran. The people suffer from the regime’s suppression and corruption. The number of executions and imprisoned has risen since the beginning of 2021.

Therefore the brave activities of the Resistance Units are aimed to break the atmosphere of repression imposed by the regime.

In the last two and half years, five nationwide uprisings took place in Iran and many regime officials have warned that the society’s rage is fire under the ashes. Many regime officials, including Ali Khamenei, have acknowledged MEK’s growth and expansion of activities inside Iran in the past two years. The MEK’s internal network has been the driving force of protests and they played a leading role in the uprisings of January 2018, November 2019, and January 2020.
