Iran: Slogans targets regime Supreme Leader Khamenei

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, December 13, 2020—In recent days, the walls of major cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, and Mashhad have been decorated with posters of the Iranian Resistance leaders and slogans calling for the overthrow of the mullahs’ regime.

The slogans target the Iranian regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei and mullahs’ theocracy ruling over Iran for more than 42 years. In other parts of the country slogans such as “We must rise to take back our legitimate rights,” “IRGC must be disbanded,” and “Down with the dictator” were widely spread.

These are activities of the Iranian Resistance Units, the nationwide network of the main Iranian opposition movement the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK). The Resistance Units continued their campaign for regime change in Iran with the slogans “Down with the dictator” and “Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi.”

Posters and images of Maryam Rajavi, the President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) were installed in various places of major cities.

The Iranian Resistance Units held up signs and took to graffiti with slogans appreciating Maryam Rajavi's decades of struggle for the Iranian people’s freedom, justice, and gender equality. “Democracy and freedom with Maryam Rajavi,” one slogan read.

In Tehran, a poster of the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi was installed while echoing the slogan, “We must rise to take back our legitimate rights.”

The activities of the Resistance Units were organized in cities such as Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, Shahriar, Mashhad, Ahvaz, Ilam, Babolsar, Bandar Abbas, Nain, Arak, Aghajari, and Babol.

“Down with dictators, be it the Shah or the Supreme Leader,” a slogan read in Arak, rejecting the narrative promoting the return to the previous dictatorship of the Shah monarchy.

The Resistance Units also once again commemorated Dr. Mohammad Maleki, a prominent Iranian academic, and the first chancellor of Tehran University after the 1979 anti-monarchical revolution. They spread his famous quote saying, “Seek freedom from the cradle to the grave.”

The Rebellious spirit

The regime is furious about the continuous activities of the MEK Resistance Units. On repeated occasions, many officials acknowledged the MEK’s role in leading and organizing protests across the country.

The Resistance Units also had a major impact in inspiring the rebellious spirit in society. Since 2018, five nationwide uprisings have been sparked across the country.

In recent days, the rebellious and defiant youths targeted two Revolutionary Guard (IRGC) Basij bases in Gachsaran and Nishapur, including the so-called IRGC “Imam Ali Battalion” responsible for suppression in Tehran.

The Basij are the most hated suppressive paramilitary force inside Iran. Its main role is to preserve the mullahs’ rule through repressive measures against protests and demonstrations. The Basij played a prominent role in quelling the November 2019 protests and are part of the regime’s new plan to increase repressive measures on the anniversary of the uprising.

In Karaj, the brave youths set fire to the Alborz Penitentiaries Organization in response to suppressive measures taken against political prisoners.

In Aghajari, Khuzestan province, images and posters of the now-dead terrorist mastermind Qassem Soleimani were torched, despite the regime’s vast propaganda campaign to portray him as a hero.

Also, in Tehran, the younger generation torched the images of Khamenei and regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini as a symbol of rejecting the regime in its entirety.
