Iran, April 23, 2020—The novel coronavirus has claimed over 33800 lives in 295 cities of Iran. Most of the victims are from Tehran and Qom were the virus outbreak started.
Iranian regime President Hassan Rouhani was furious over revelations of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) debunking his constant lies, and said in his remarks on Wednesday, April 22 that “There is a small minority that get their talking points from abroad and unfortunately repeat whatever they say… They doubt [official] stats, the medical services, the country’s progress and the state’s effective measures… day and night they seek such criteria.”
Meanwhile, the regime continues to mount repressive measures to hide its criminal policies and prevent the leak of information about the scale of the coronavirus outbreak. By strengthening its security measures, the regime tries to use the crisis as a tool against the collapse of his regime at the price of many human lives. Ali Akbar Kiani, the commander of the Torbat Heydarieh security forces said, “After the publication of fake news about coronavirus in a social network, the Internet Police (FATA) has been tasked to handle this. Three women were identified as suspects and arrested in coordination with the judiciary.” (Source: IRNA, April 22)
The ruling mullahs believe coronavirus will cause the people to lose heart for protest, therefore the Iranian people’s organized resistance, which is active both inside the country and across the world, is poised to prevent the regime from making the coronavirus outbreak another excuse to continue its rule.
Consequently, the Iranian Resistance Units, a network of MEK activists across Iran, have been organizing various activities that are louder calls for regime change in Iran as the coronavirus crisis deepens. The MEK Resistance Units’ activities reflect the deep resent of the Iranian people toward the entire regime and all its icons. While the mullahs sow the seeds of hopelessness and despair, the Resistance Units rebel against it.
On Tuesday, April 21, several of the regime’s propaganda centers for the spread of the mullahs’ ideology, Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and Basij bases and images and banners of regime officials were torched by the rebellious and brave youths in Qom, Eshtehard (Karaj), Tehran, Kerman, Arak, Shahrekord, Hamedan, Fassa (Shiraz) and Karaj. One of the brave activists said: “The terrorist IRGC belongs in the trash bin of history. The world must know that the path of the Iranian regime is different from ours and we seek peace and friendship with people throughout the world.”

Elsewhere in Tehran and cities such as Shushtar, Kashan, Dezful and Qazvin, handwritten graffiti on walls read “Down with the IRGC, the cause of the coronavirus outbreak.”
On Monday, April 20, the MEK Resistance Units distributed messages and quotes by Iranian Resistance leaders Maryam and Massoud Rajavi and wrote slogans on walls in Tehran, Khoramabad, Ghaemshahr, Kermanshah, Shiraz, Behbahan, Qazvin, Hamedan, Neyshabour, Mahshahr, Karaj and Sabzevar: “IRGC health and financial facilities & foundations controlled by Khamenei must be put at the service of the people of Iran”, “the mullahs must get lost, in order to handle the coronavirus” and “the people of Iran and rebellious youth have decided to oust the IRGC and Basij.”
In Kermanshah, an image of Khamenei and regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini were torched.

Similar activities were carried out in Urmia on Sunday, April 19, where images of regime’s supreme leader Ali Khamenei were burned.

On Sunday, April 19, in Isfahan, Mashhad, Khuzestan, Sanandaj, Tehran, Ghaemshahr, Chaboksar, and Varamin, Resistance Units paid tribute to thousands of innocent lives lost due to the coronavirus crisis caused by the mullahs. They wrote slogans on walls saying: “The choice of the brave generation of Iran is the overthrow of Khamenei’s rule” and “The time is up for the inhumane theocracy”.
On Saturday, April 18, the rebellious and defiant youths in Kerman, Kermanshah, and Karaj torched an IRGC Basij base, the religious school and center of propaganda and spread of fundamentalism in Kerman, and banners of Khamenei, Khomeini and IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in January by a U.S. drone. The Iranian people detest the Basij, a subsidiary of the terrorist-designated IRGC, a paramilitary force, and the most hated suppressive group used to crack down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.

Also, on Saturday, members of the MEK Resistance Units in Tehran, Lahijan, Islamshahr, Isfahan, and Karaj spread the slogan “The mullahs sow the seeds of hopelessness and passivity. We must rebel against it.” They wrote slogans on walls in various cities calling for the end of the mullahs’ regime: “The mullahs can no longer rule over Iran” and “The time has come to rise up, to rebel, to revolt, and to tear apart the chains and open the prisons.”
