Iran: Khamenei said we must really be scared!

Analysis by PMOI/MEK

Iran, August 26, 2019–Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei delivered remarks on April 21 after remaining quiet under the pressure of internal/global crises and an unprecedented power struggle among his own officials. Some even say his silence was quite suspicious. His main objective, however, was to lift the spirits of his regime’s forces.

“We truly must not be afraid because this enemy has existed since the [1979 revolution] and they have done everything they could. However, they have not been successful,” Khamenei said. “What they have not been able to achieve in the first 40 years they will not, God willing, be able to achieve in the next 40 years.”

There is a reality in his remarks, being the unfortunate fact that this regime has ruled over Iran for the past 40 years. How have they been able to remain in power? If we study the past four decades, we will understand that this government has been in power at a great price.

For example, the eight-year Iran-Iraq War of the 1980s, with the insistence of regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini, was described as a gift from the heavens. These days, however, Iranian youth are demanding answers from regime officials, resulting in numerous figures blaming others and even Khomeini himself! It is worth noting that this war, with all the lives and treasures lost, was completely avoidable.

The Iranian regime has been on a rampage, killing dissidents abroad and inside their prisons, including the summer 1988 massacre during which over 30,000 political prisoners, mostly members and supporters of the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), were sent to the gallows.

The 1990s chain murders and an unknown number of writers and dignitaries who literally disappeared. An unknown number of kidnapped and murdered priests, and an unknown number of assassinations both inside the country and abroad.

Spending billions, and possibly trillions, to build nuclear weapons, only to cement it.

Providing funds for the Hashd al-Shaabi proxies in Iraq along with other terrorist forces. Establishing similar forces in Yemen and other countries with the support of al-Qaeda, the Taliban, the Houthis and …

Numerous uprisings by the Iranian people, from Mashhad to the Dec 2017 / Jan 2018 uprising.

The amount of narcotics smuggled by the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and distributed across the country.

The number of warnings issued and arrests of women in the streets (600,000 warnings in one province in the course of one year alone!).

The number of street children that are used to round up trash for the municipality.

The number of kidnappings in these four decades and the state kidnappers that are active for the regime’s international political interests.

The massive currency nosediving and currency bills printed without any legitimate backup, meaning the regime stealing from the hard work of workers and others across Iran.

The number of colossal cases of embezzlement that have been unveiled to this day. And all the while, the numerous regime figures who have abandoned ship and literally disappeared.

The number of years Ayatollah Hossein Ali Montazeri was under house arrest, and more of the regime’s own officials placed under such circumstances.

The number of ayatollahs and cleric arrested and executed, such as Ayatollah Ashuri and …

The skyrocketing number of unemployed Iranians. The rising number of prostitutes in Iran and the lowering age of prostitution… and many other similar numbers that can continue for hundreds of pages to write a large book.

“One of the professional smugglers was arrested with over 20 kilograms of opium and over 300 officials made calls for his release,” the spokesman of the Judiciary Commission in the regime’s Majlis (parliament) said on August 22.

On the same day, an ill man lost his life outside of a hospital as he was not accepted for treatment.

Also, on the same day, a filthy mullah raped an 11-year-old child, resulting in the residents of his village setting his house on fire.

This unfortunate trend has been witnessed repeatedly in the past 40 years. We hear such news reports every day, such as two Majlis members from the cities of Zanjan and Abhar, northwest Iran, intervening in the car market in order to pocket more personal profits.

Any Iranian reading news about their country will find thousands of such examples.

Khamenei can make similar comments in a desperate attempt to lift his forces’ spirits. However, the Iranian people will continue in their effort to realize a new revolution. Less than two years ago, all Iranians were chanting “Death to Khamenei,” including Iran’s children.

Khamenei may pretend not to hear them, but the Iranian people are determined to place him in the dustbin of history.
