Iran, August 27, 2020—The internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), known as the Resistance Units, organized various anti-regime activities across the country from Saturday, August 22, to Wednesday, August 26.

They held up signs and took to graffiti with the slogans of the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President-elect Maryam Rajavi and installed anti-regime banners and posters in the cities of Tehran, Mashhad, Isfahan, Shiraz, Tabriz, Qom, Sistan and Baluchestan province, Dehdasht, Ahvaz, Karaj, Qazvin, Sanandaj, Birjand, Rasht, Dezful, Shahr-e Quds, Behshahr, and Nishapur. The NCRI is the National Council of Resistance of Iran and the PMOI/MEK is the cornerstone member of this coalition.

Their slogans read:

“The Iranian regime & mullahs are to blame for the Coronavirus outbreak”

“Damn the Shah and the mullahs, the cruel regime must be overthrown”

“Down with the principle of the Supreme Leader’s rule, hail to Rajavi”

“The cruel regime must be overthrown”

“Rise up to overthrow the mullahs’ regime”

“Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi”

“The MEK has made a commitment to overthrow the mullahs’ regime”

“We can and we must free Iran”

“The MEK is fully dedicated to free Iran”

“The three key pledges of the Iranian Resistance are overthrowing the clerical regime, establishing a free and democratic Iran, and remaining faithful to our people’s sovereignty and their vote.”

The Resistance Units called for an end to the theocratic regime ruling Iran and echoing the Iranian people’s yearn for freedom, democracy, and popular sovereignty.

According to regime’s state-run media the MEK Resistance Units played a significant role in orchestrating the nationwide uprisings of December 2017 and November 2019.

A reflection of the explosive state of Iran’s society

Simultaneously, the regime’s suppressive centers were bravely targeted and torched by defiant youths, portraying the explosive state of Iran’s society described by many analysts as a powder keg.

The rebellious Iranian youths targeted four Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) Basij bases in the cities of Karaj, Isfahan, Khomeini Shahr, and Parsian of Hormozgan province. The Basij are the most hated suppressive paramilitary force inside Iran and a subsidiary of the terrorist designated IRGC. Its main role is to preserve the mullahs’ regime through the crackdown of protests and demonstrations, such as the November 2019 nationwide uprising.

Also, in Mashhad and Karaj, a center focusing on promoting the mullahs’ fundamentalist viewpoints, and an entity that deceives the general public to  fund the regime, were torched by defiant youth. These acts reflect a growing public outrage to mullahs’ suppression and plundering.

Similarly in other cities such as Khorramabad, Karaj, Arak and Chalus, images of regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and banners of Qassem Soleimani, the now-dead IRGC Quds Force commander and the mastermind of the mullahs’ extraterritorial terrorist, attacks were burned down by the people.
