Iran: PMOI/MEK network targets icons of IRGC, paramilitary Basij

Iran, Agust 18, 2019 – As regime authorities are escalating security measures across Iran, members of “Resistance Units,” a network associated directly to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), have increased their efforts in the month of August. This includes targeting various icons of the mullahs’ terrorist-designated Revolutionary Guards (IRGC) and its paramilitary Basij units.

In Gilan Province, northern Iran, members of Resistance Unit 320 set fire to a large banner of Iranian regime Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei.

In Behbahan, southwest Iran, members of Resistance Unit 688 set fire to the entrance and poster of an IRGC Basij base. Members of Resistance Unit 685 set fire to the entrance of a regime site.

In East Azerbaijan Province, northwest Iran, members of Resistance Unit 711 set fire to a large poster affiliated to the IRGC.

In Zahedan, southeast Iran, members of Resistance Unit 340 set fire to an IRGC Basij sign. Members of Resistance Unit 260 set fire to an IRGC tower.

In Tehran, members of Resistance Unit 419 set fire to a regime site in the capital’s District 13.

In West Azerbaijan Province, northwest Iran, members of Resistance Unit 461 set fire to a large poster of the IRGC in the city of Salmas.

In the city of Khash, Sistan & Baluchistan Province, southeast Iran, members of a resistance unit set fire to a poster of an IRGC Basij base. Members of Resistance Unit 390 also in this city set fire to a banner containing images of Khamenei and regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini.
