Iran, April 20, 2019 – Clashes were reported on Friday in the Sahand Football Stadium of Tabriz, northwest Iran, after a soccer/football match between two club teams turned into an anti-regime protest.
Spectators and youth clashed with anti-riot forces stationed in the stadium, resulting in a number of protesters and anti-riot police being injured and the arrest of a number of protesters.

Local reports indicate the clashes extended to the streets around the stadium.
Video shot at the scene and posted on the internet show that the repressive forces used water cannons and tear gas to disperse the protesting crowd.
