/, May 8, 2018 – In the Kurdish city of Baneh, Bazar merchants and shopkeepers on Monday, May 7th continued their general strike for the 23rd consecutive day despite the regimes' imposed climate of intimidation and fear.

 

 

 

 

 

 

The general strike in Baneh, which has now extended to 3 provinces in the western part of the country, started on April 15th in opposition to the regime's closure of border passes and increased custom tariffs.

 

 

 

 

 

 

In another news, Bazar merchants and shop owners in Baneh tore up their electric and water utility bills setting them on fire to show their anger and frustration at the government corruption.
