Resistance Units continue to send message of hope and revolt across Iran

Reporting by PMOI/MEK

Iran, May 12, 2020—While the inhumane mullahs’ regime in Iran is still covering up the coronavirus death toll, as fear for internal and international repercussions of the scope of the disaster, The People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI / MEK) announced on May 9 that over 40,700 people have died of the novel coronavirus in 315 cities checkered across all of Iran’s 31 provinces. The official death count declared by the regime is 6,640, while in Tehran alone, 6,790 have died of COVID-19.

Ali Khamenei, the Iranian regime Supreme Leader attended on May 8 the National Committee on Combating Coronavirus via video conference and tried to whitewash his crimes claimed to have made major accomplishments in combating COVID-19 “while the West has failed.”

As the Iranian resistance has repeatedly stressed, the regime uses coronavirus as a tool to maintain its rule, and the single solution for coronavirus, for poverty, for oppression and tyranny, is to overthrow the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.

Therefore, members of the Iranian Resistance Units, a network of MEK activists across Iran, have been organizing various activities highlighting the very same solution for Iran. The MEK Resistance Units offer a breakthrough and are a beacon for uprising and freedom. They represent the rebellious and defiant generation and played a key role in nationwide uprising of December 2017 and November 2019. These selfless, determined, and spirited women and men believe that the Iranian people’s fight against coronavirus is part of their fateful resistance against the mullahs’ regime and the inhuman clerical regime and their mission is freedom and popular sovereignty.

The Resistance Units took to graffiti in public places writing messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President Maryam Rajavi in previous days.

On Saturday May 9, the rebellious and defiant youth in Shahrekord and Tehran torched two IRGC Basij bases. The Basij, a subsidiary of the terrorist designated Revolutionary Guards (IRGC), is a force detested by the Iranian people for its role in cracking down on protests and demonstrations such as the November nationwide uprising.

On the same day, member of MEK Resistance Units in Tehran, Gorgan, Shiraz, Qom, Karaj, Bojnurd, Langaroud, Kashan and Tonekabon installed handwritten banners and posters of Iranian Resistance leaders on the walls that read: “We will resist and fight the coronavirus and the ruling theocracy” and “Free political prisoners.”

Similar activities were carried out by MEK Resistance Units on Friday May 8, in Tehran, Shiraz, Karaj, Semnan, Babolsar, Tonekabon, Andimeshk, Behbahan and Borujen with the slogans: “Iranians will not surrender to sorrow, silence, stillness and darkness of the coronavirus caused by the mullahs” and “There is a single solution for the Coronavirus. That solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship.”

On Thursday May 7, the defiant and brave young generation torched posters of Iranian regime leaders in Astane Ashrafiyeh, Kerman and Kashan. Images of Image of regime’s founder, Ruhollah Khomeini, regime’s Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei and Qassem Soleimani, who was killed in a U.S. drone attack on January 2020, was burned and demolished.

Also on Thursday, members of the Resistance Units and MEK supporters in Shiraz, Tehran, Omidiyeh, Kasha and Behbahan installed messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President Maryam Rajavi on walls reading: “The rebellious and defiant generation and the Resistance Units each day send a message of hope and revolt everywhere” and “Down with Khamenei, hail to Rajavi.”
