Iran, April 15, 2020—As of Tuesday April 14, 2020, reports obtained by the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) indicate that at least 28,200 people have died from coronavirus in Iran. And the destructive policies of the Iranian regime are bound to cause many more preventable deaths. The regime’s mishandling of the crisis has caused outrage among the Iranian people, who were already calling for regime change even before the COVID-19 outbreak began.
In various cities across the country, brave youth chanted “The mullahs do not want Iran, and Iran and all Iranians do not want the mullahs.” Activities organized by Iranian Resistance Units, a network of MEK activists across the country, echoed the Iranian people’s will to overthrow the mullahs’ regime and the desire to live in a free, democratic and secular Iran. The MEK Resistance Units have played a significant role in organized protests inside Iran and represent the will of the Iranian nation for regime change.
On April 14, 2020, the brave youth of Mashhad torched a huge banner of IRGC commander Qassem Soleimani who was killed in a U.S. drone last January. These activities reflect the deep resent of the Iranian people toward the entire regime and all its icons.

On the same day, MEK Resistance Units in Tehran, Mashhad, Behbahan, Isfahan, Kermanshah and Shiraz wrote various anti-regime slogans on the walls and installed posters of the Iranian Resistance leaders, Maryam and Massoud Rajavi. They chanted: “The choice of the brave Iranian generation is the overthrow of Khamenei’s rule.” “Down with the principal of absolute rule of the Supreme leader, Hail to Rajavi and Down with Khamenei”
On April 13, in Tehran, Qom, Arak, Lahijan and Shiraz an RGC Basij base and a regime center of spread of fundamentalism and Sharia Law was torched by the rebellious and defiant Iranian youths and several banners of Qassem Soleimani was burned.

Also on Monday, members of the MEK Resistance Units in Tehran, Isfahan, Dehloran, Lahijan, Golestan and Karaj spread the Iranian Resistance leaders’ messages and echoed Massoud Rajavi’s message who said “We must rebel and fight more and more to take back Iran.”
On Saturday April 11, a Huge banner of Maryam Rajavi was installed in the city of Karaj quoting: “There is one solution for the Coronavirus, for poverty, for oppression and for tyranny. That solution is overthrowing the mullahs’ religious dictatorship in its entirety.”
Similar actions were carried out by the MEK Resistance Units members in Tehran, Shiraz, Mahshahr and Kerman. They installed handwritten slogans saying: “Khamenei is the real coronavirus. Khamenei’s rule must be overthrown” and quoted the Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi who said: “The spring of Iran’s freedom will be realized after this cold winter through more and more struggle against the mullahs’ violence and crimes.”
