More protests in Iran by people from all walks of life

Iran, April 16, 2021—As a trend continues across Iran more people from all walks of life are seen taking to the streets in various rallies and protests, demanding their rights from a regime that continues to push the nation into further poverty.

 

Graduate teachers in Tehran held a rally outside the regime’s administrative buildings on Saturday protesting the downgrade of their benefits. The protesting teachers were seen chanting:

“We won’t accept any cruelty and will have our rights fulfilled!”

“Teachers, protest for your rights!”

A group of municipal workers in the city of Bandar Lengeh of southern Iran rallied on Saturday, April 17, protesting and demanding their paychecks that have been delayed for six months now.

These workers are facing difficult living conditions and their barely even putting food on the table for their families. Officials continue to ignore the workers’ demands and their insurance premiums have not been provided for several months now.

A group of municipal workers were also seen protesting in the city of Serish Abad of western Iran on Saturday, protesting their several-month delayed paychecks.

There are about 60 employees working for the Serish Abad municipality who have not been paid for at least five months now and their insurance premiums have not been provided for several months.

On Saturday, workers of the Jahan vegetable oil company in Zanjan held a rally again protesting delayed paychecks from 2014 to 2018.

These workers have yet to receive their Nowruz (Iranian calendar new year on March 21) bonuses. Despite these difficulties, the employer has deducted about five to eight million rials (about $20 to $32) from each worker’s monthly salary. This company has around 85 employees.
