Iran: PMOI/MEK network members commemorate important anniversary

Iran, May 27, 2019 - Members of “Resistance Units,” a network closely affiliated to the Iranian opposition group People's Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), are marking the 47th anniversary of May 25, 1972, when PMOI/MEK founders were executed by the Shah’s dictatorship.

Mohammad Hanifnejad, Saeid Mohsen and Asghar Badizadegan, along with two senior PMOI/MEK members, Mahmoud Asgarizadeh and Abdolrasul Meshkinfam, were executed by firing squads back in 1972.

PMOI/MEK Resistance Units marked this anniversary by keeping alive the fire of their resistance, courage, and sacrifice. Resistance unit members are also expressing readiness to continue their struggle to bring about democratic regime change and freedom/democracy for the entire Iranian nation.

In Tehran, members of Resistance Unit 220 put up posters citing Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi’s memoirs of the executed PMOI/MEK founders.

Members of Resistance Unit 212 in Tehran also put up a poster marking this anniversary.

 

 

 

PMOI/MEK supporters in the city of Qazvin, northwest Iran, put up various signs of PMOI/MEK founders, Massoud Rajavi and Iranian opposition President Maryam Rajavi, head of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI).

 

 

 

In Mashhad, northeast Iran, members of Resistance Units and PMOI/MEK supporters also commemorated the May 25 anniversary, putting up various signs and especially quoting Maryam Rajavi honoring the executed PMOI/MEK founders.

 

 

 

In Shiraz, south-central Iran, members of Resistance Units and PMOI/MEK supporters also marked this occasion through a variety of activities.

 

 

The cities of Isfahan, Semnan, Kashan, and Karaj also witnessed various activities by PMOI/MEK supporters and Resistance Unit members on this occasion.

 

 

 

PMOI/MEK supporters in the major cities of Tehran, Mashhad, and Isfahan put up various signs and posters commemorating the fallen PMOI/MEK founders. In Tehran, a group of PMOI/MEK supporters distributed bread and food to the needy.
