Iran, October 17, 2020—While the anniversary of the November 2019 uprising in Iran is getting closer, the internal network of the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK), the Resistance Units, have intensified their activities in Iran. Their activities include honoring the memory of the martyrs and encouraging the people for further protests. The Resistance Units bravely spread the slogans and messages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and President-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI) Maryam Rajavi in various cities.
The November 2019 protests in Iran erupted when the Iranian regime suddenly tripled gas prices. The regime’s answer to the protests was brutal repression and the security forces gunned down 1,500 young protesters in the streets.
The slogans and hand-written banners of the members of the Resistance Units read “November 15, the day on which Iran’s uprising started, is a national, lasting, and eternal day,” and “Honor the memory of martyrs fallen in the November uprising in 2019.”
These activities were carried out in Tehran, Isfahan, Tabriz, Mashhad, Karaj, Abadan, Rasht, Arak, Bandar Abbas, Mehran, Ghaemshahr, Neyshabur, Khorramabad, Torbat-e-Jam, Shahriar, Eslamshahr, Ardabil, Kermanshah, Marvdasht, Kashan, Sonqor, Tus, and Sanandaj.
Their slogans read:
“We will avenge the blood of 1500 martyrs of the November 2019 uprising.”
“The dictator’s end is near”
“Down with Khamenei”
“Hail to freedom, down with Khamenei”
“Down with Dictator, hail to Rajavi”
“We will fight more to take back our homeland.”
“There is neither food nor fear. The uprising of the poor is on the way.”
“Down with Khamenei, Viva Rajavi. Mullahs must fear the uprising on the horizon.”

MEK Resistance units carry the message of Iranian resistance leader Massoud Rajavi to Tus, northeast Iran, at the Tomb of legendary Iranian poet Ferdowsi
In Tus, northeast Iran, a young member of the Resistance Units, bravely spread the messages of Massoud Rajavi at the Tomb of Ferdowsi. Ferdowsi, the legendary Persian poet and author of the Persian epic Shahnameh died in 1020 AD and was buried in the Tus. Mohammad Reza Shajarian, legendary Iranian singer and regime critic who died on Friday, October 9 in Tehran, was also laid to rest in the same location. There is currently a heavy presence of security and intelligence forces at the location and the Resistance Unit members are carrying out these activities at great risk to themselves.
In the same period, the rebellious and defiant youth targeted the regime’s Guardian Council Office in Mashhad, and regime leaders’ images and billboards in Tehran, Khavaf (Razavi Khorasan), and Mobarakeh (Isfahan) despite a highly intensified security atmosphere.
