Iran, April 26, 2020—Every day, the novel coronavirus outbreak in Iran claims more and more lives. On Saturday April 15 the People’s Mojahedin Organization of Iran (PMOI/MEK) announced that over 35,300 people have died of COVID-19 in 298 cities across all of Iran’s 31 provinces.

Despite the regime’s engineered numbers, state officials and experts are one after another voicing the false nature of these figures and expressing significant concerns regarding the decisions made to send people back to work.

The state-run Hamshahri website warned that a rise in COVID-19 cases and deaths was witnesses in nine provinces of Qom, Markazi, Ilam, Ardabil, Gilan, Golestan, Hamedan, Kohgiluyeh & Boyer Ahmed and Khuzestan and was confirmed in a report issued by the COVID-19 Task Force HQ’s Epidemiology Committee.

Meanwhile, the regime continues to mount repressive measures to hide its criminal policies and prevent the leak of information about the scale of the coronavirus outbreak. By strengthening its security measures, the regime tries to use the crisis as a tool against the collapse of his regime at the price of many human lives.

Mohammad Reza Nikbakht, dean of Lorestan Medical Sciences University, said on April 22, “The Supreme National Security Council and the security department of the Health Ministry told us not to report… In this country, we receive orders from the higher authorities. We can only obey.”

As the regime continues its criminal policies and tries to take advantage of the coronavirus outbreak to consolidate its power, Iranian Resistance Units, a network of MEK activists across Iran, have been organizing various activities that are louder calls for regime change in Iran. The Resistance Units and selfless women and men have revolted against this pandemic disease amid the Iranian nation’s fateful struggle against the ruling theocracy. The MEK Resistance Units are rapidly multiplying and carrying out hundreds of activities against the regime’s repressive institutes, spearheading uprisings and acting as a beacon for rebellion against the rule of the mullahs.

On Friday, April 24, members of the Resistance Units in Tehran, Shiraz, Torbate Heidariyeh, Lahijan and Kerman highlighted the solution for Iran which is the overthrow of the mullahs' rule. They took to graffiti in public places writing massages of Iranian Resistance leader Massoud Rajavi and NCRI President Maryam Rajavi. They installed banners with the slogans such as “The choice of the brave generation of Iran is the overthrow of Khamenei’s rule”, “Iran is blazing. The people of Iran want neither the Coronavirus nor the mullahs”, “Down with the IRGC, Rouhani and the Mullahs.”

Similar activities were carried out on April 23 in Shiraz, Kermanshah, Tehran, Rasht and Mahshahr, where Resistance Units installed a banner quoting Mrs. Maryam Rajavi: “Not only freedom of the Iranian people but also their health & livelihood & saving Iran’s economy & preservation of its existence depends on the overthrow of this regime.”

The defiant and rebellious youths in Isfahan, Mashhad and Kermanshah torched IRGC Basij bases and state-owned institutions that loot the people’s wealth. They burned Images of regime founder Ruhollah Khomeini & supreme leader Ali Khamenei and entrance signs to IRGC bases.
