Iranian regime Health Ministry spokesperson Kianush Jahanpour reported the regime’s engineered COVID-19 stats today with 70 new deaths and 3,134 new cases in the past 24 hours. The provinces of Hormozgan, East and West Azerbaijan, Kurdistan, Kermanshah, Bushehr, Sistan & Baluchistan, Qazvin, and Razavi Khorasan are now designated as “alarming state” status.

“During the past 24 hours, 261 new coronavirus patients have been hospitalized and 73 such patients have entered ICU sections,” said Alireza Zali, head of Tehran’s COVID-19 Task Force on Tuesday, according to the state-run ILNA news agency.

In Kermanshah, a city in western Iran, the number of new cases and those hospitalized are shocking. “More than 200 people across [Kermanshah] province are hospitalized on a daily basis. The number of people hospitalized on Tuesday was 243,” said the head of the Kermanshah Medical Sciences University Public Relations Committee on Wednesday, according to Fars news agency, affiliated to the Revolutionary Guards (IRGC). These numbers are nearly three fourth of those hospitalized in the Iranian capital Tehran, a city with a population of 14 million, according to the regime’s own statistics.

In Khuzestan province, the Ahvaz Medical Sciences University reported on Tuesday 658 new cases and 16 new deaths in the span of 24 hours, according to the state-run Ruidad24 website. Dean of the Abadan Medical Sciences University reported 63 new cases and five new deaths in the span of 24 hours, according to a report published by the IRGC-affiliated Javan daily on Tuesday.

“Last week we had the highest number of people hospitalized in the city of Shushtar… We expect a new coronavirus wave and an increasing number of cases by June 20,” said the caretaker of Shushtar Medical Sciences University on Wednesday, according to the state-run ISNA news agency.

“In cities such as Bandar Abbas, we are looking to use hotels to quarantine people who have contracted COVID-19. The cities of Bandar Abbas and Minab have been designated as ‘code red’ areas by the National COVID-19 Task Force,” said the dean of Hormozgan Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the official IRIB news agency. “From our perspective, the cities of Rudan and Qeshm are also red, alongside Haji-Abad and Bandar Khamir, which are under evaluation to be designated as code red areas. To this day, 123 of our medical staff members in this province have contracted the novel coronavirus,” he added.

“We are facing a sudden increase in new cases and Fars province is currently reached an alarming state,” said deputy dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University on Tuesday, according to the Fars news agency.

Fars News Agency quoted the dean of Shiraz Medical Sciences University as saying, “We’re faced with a sudden surge of the spread of the virus and Fars province is in an alarming state.”

IRNA quoted the deputy governor of Bushehr province as saying, “Today, we broke the record of spreading the virus, and if this trend continues, we will break bigger and worse records.”

In Sistan and Baluchestan, the mayor of Iranshahr said, “As a result of the expansion of the chain of coronavirus contagion, as of today, Wednesday, the bazaar will be shut down for 10 days.” (Source: Tabnak, July 3)

According to Fars, the dean of Western Azerbaijan Medical Sciences University said, “The number of people who have contracted coronavirus in Western Azerbaijan has risen to 6,057. The stats from the past week show that the number of hospitalized people and those who have died of coronavirus has increased.”

The regime’s main broadcaster, IRIB, reported today: “The alarm of the second wave of coronavirus was sounded in Western Azerbaijan today. The rising trend of coronavirus cases in Mahabad is worrying.”

Meanwhile, many prisoners in all wards of Urmia Central Prison are showing coronavirus symptoms such as fever, sore throat, loss of smell and taste senses, and body aches. The lack of attention by prison authorities has resulted in the spread of the disease among prisoners. After repeated protests by prisoners, a few critical patients were tested, and they were diagnosed with COVID-19. The prisoners of Urmia are lacking the most basic hygienic products such as soap and sanitizers. These products are sold at very high prices, and most prisoners don’t have the means to purchase them.

Mrs. Maryam Rajavi, the president-elect of the National Council of Resistance of Iran (NCRI), reiterated that the continued spread of the virus across the country is the direct result of the criminal policies of the regime. Mrs. Rajavi stressed that regime supreme leader Ali Khamenei and president Hassan Rouhani are responsible for the loss of so many lives. Mrs. Rajavi warned about the conditions in prisons and repeated her call on the UN Secretary General and Security Council and other international bodies to intervene to stop the humanitarian catastrophe that is coming to pass in Iran’s prisons.
